Lightning has always been the most dangerous thing in dry weather. Lightning can strike without warning. In recent years, mobile phone users have been killed or injured by lightning. In a bid to prevent such accidents from happening again, Finnish mobile phone maker Nokia has developed a lightning-detecting phone that can warn users of impending lightning so they can quickly move to safety. Officials believe the new feature will be popular with many outdoor enthusiasts.
Give a 10-minute warning
According to British media reports, the intimate phone technology was developed by Finnish mobile phone maker Nokia. Mobile phones with this technology can not only send emails, take pictures and video, but also predict the threat of lightning and get the user out of a dangerous place.
Nokia said its new lightning alarm feature, which gives people a 10-minute warning against thunder in dry weather, is "a very important safety measure."
It is understood that this phone will detect radio waves produced by several ten kilometers away the thunder, as the wave pattern will change according to the thunderstorm approaching, mobile phones detect changes will issue a warning sound, to alert users to a safe place, believe that it will be golfers and lovers of fishermen and other outdoor activities.
Future lightning distance can be predicted
In addition to detecting lightning, the technology may even be able to determine the distance to the nearest lightning in the future, experts say.
Lightning is a billion volts, enough to light 10 million light bulbs. In the UK alone, five people are killed by lightning each year, and between 30 and 60 are injured by lightning, 75% of whom suffer permanent disability such as brain damage or paralysis.
But some experts are skeptical about the technology. Cote, the analyst, said the patent was "interesting" but only applied to "areas where lightning is frequent".
