Zhou Bihua, chief professor at PLA University of Science and Technology, has successfully solved many problems in lightning electromagnetic pulse protection, making China one of the world's most advanced researchers in the field, China Central Television news reported.
Lightning is a common natural phenomenon. Improper protection will bring huge losses to people's lives and property, and it will paralyze military electronic systems in wartime. After 20 years of hard work, Zhou Bihua broke through the conventional practice of taking the earth as an ideal conductor, established a new mathematical model, and successfully solved the world's problems, such as the prediction of electromagnetic pulse environment within 100 meters from the lightning point. The international authoritative academic journal published the research results in eight pages.
At present, the national industrial standard on electromagnetic pulse protection compiled by Zhou Bihua has been promulgated and implemented, and 11 of the 18 major scientific research projects she presided over have won the national and military scientific and technological Progress Awards.
